Frequently Asked Questions

We accept all gently worn sneakers. The rule of thumb is if you would donate them to a thrift store, we accept them.

At this time, fundraisers for schools and non-profit organizations or individuals doing their own collecting, we accept sneakers only. 

For recycling initiatives or programs for cities, counties, or the like, please contact us directly for more information about what is accepted under this program. 

We welcome any organization, city, county, or individual to host a recycle sneaker drive or recycling campaign.

We provide boxes* as well as any social media images, flyers, etc. You will receive some samples of this material in your "Welcome" email sent after your first box request. 

*Boxes are shipped directly from a third party. They are 24x18x18 and will hold 25-30 pairs of adult size sneakers and/or up to 40 pounds.

We also have reusable promotional sleeves for the boxes available to those with continual drives or need that extra promotional exposure. 

No minimum boxes are required. Anyone can be part of the movement with just filling one box.

Please note that if you do have less than five boxes to ship to us, you will be responsible to ship them by dropping them off at FedEx, Walgreens, or giving them to a FedEx driver. Yes, we still provide the prepaid shipping labels!

Recycle Sneaker Project will send you pre-paid shipping labels via email upon request. We will also arrange pick up for you if you have five boxes or more ready to ship.

Due to our special shipping rates, you must use the boxes provided by RSP to ship your collected sneakers. Any other boxes shipped to us may not receive credit.

Unfortunately, we cannot schedule pickups for individual boxes. However, you can still use the prepaid labels provided and give them to a FedEx delivery driver, take to the nearest FedEx or Walgreens location.

There are two paths for your sneakers.... 

(1) GENTLY USED SNEAKERS - Pending, see.....

Starting Sept 1st, 2024, new tiered payouts will be in effect. Please make sure your RSP supplied boxes are FULL to receive credit at the highest tier.

TIER III: 30 pounds and up per box - .50 cents per pound.

TIER II: 25-29 pounds per box - .25 cents per pound.

TIER I: Under 25 pounds per box - .00 cents per pound. 

BONUS RATE: You may receive a bonuse rate by posting your recycle sneaker drive on social media. Please contact us for more details. 

All boxes are paid out by net pounds received.

Total pounds - box weight = net pounds. (Example: 40-2=38)

We have a few options available:

MONTHLY PAYOUTS: Good for those who have multi-month or continual drives.

END OF DRIVE: Good for those who have shorter drives or want just one payout.

All payouts are made via check or Zelle on or around the 10th of each month.
